Black Carpet Dye is a blend of black pigment and industrial alcohol, formulated for the restoration of black carpets and boot mats found in cars. It is not suitable for use on rubber or plastic surfaces. The finished result will depend on the condition of the carpet being treated. Carpets with a high wool content will produce a better result. Carpets with a high nylon content will not perform so well and may require an additional treatment. If you suspect the carpet has been treated with Scotch Guard or a similar product, we recommend cleaning the carpet first by use of an extraction fluid or gently steam clean it. Allow carpets to fully dry before applying Black Carpet Dye.
Directions: Shake the tin well before use to make sure the dye pigment is evenly distributed. Decant only sufficient product into a carpet dye applicator for the area to be treated. Always test on a hidden area first to ensure the dye will be fully absorbed by the fabric. Apply closely to the surface with a fine spray. Black Carpet Dye may also be applied evenly by brush. The alcohol spirit base dye carrier will evaporate away leaving the black dye in contact with the fabric of the carpet. After treatment allow to fully dry in a well ventilated environment. Test the carpet is full dry before use.
